Extraterrestrial Nucleobases Discovered
Researchers, studying meteorites, have discovered the presence of nucleobases - a critical molecule in the formation of DNA. After extensive study, it appears that these compounds are extraterrestrial in origin.

The research gives support to the theory that a kit of ready-made parts created in space and delivered to Earth by meteorite and comet impacts assisted the origin of life. (Credit: NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center)
