Even when you are sitting in your chair, you are far from stationary. Not only are you spinning on an axis and revolving around a star, our solar system actually moves through the galaxy as well.

Consider these motions in the scheme of interstellar travel. All of these ranges of motion (and their relative differences to ourselves) must be taken into account to determine the correct trajectory.
