Firebird - Optionally Manned Aircraft
Northrop Grumman has just unveiled its Firebird manned/unmanned aircraft. Designed and built by Scaled Composites, the Firebird is a long-endurance aircraft that can be piloted or flown remotely.

This aircraft was designed and built by Scaled Composites as the Model 355. You may recognize them as the builders of SpaceShipOne. The Firebird is designed to operate at a medium-altitude and is intended to compete with the General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper/Predator B, but with the key option of being flown manned.
