Unsinkable Fire Ant Raft
In order to protect their queen through rainy season, some species of fire ants have developed the ability to form living rafts. These rafts are extremely difficult to sink, and the ants know to rotate their positions when the raft is being eaten.

Click here for BBC footage of fire ants forming a living raft in the wild.
