Whales are certainly one of kind sea creatures that are prone to be extinct if not given attention. Recently, The Hump, one of the really trendy (and expensive – people pay a lot for raw fish!) sushi joints in Santa Monica was busted for selling <a href="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2010/03/11/seiwhale/">Sei whale</a> sushi. The sting was even carried out by the people that made The Cove – the dolphin-fishing documentary. The restaurant in questions' parent company, Typhoon Restaurants Inc is going to pony up for the fines – up to $200,000, and probably more – far more than a payday loans worth. Whale and dolphin conservation has become a huge cause célèbre, though no dolphins (aside from river dolphins) are actually listed as endangered.
