A near-perfect alignment of the sun, the moon and Earth will provide sky watchers a generous holiday gift on the night of December 20 and the morning of December 21.

In Calgary, Alberta Canada we had a great view of this event. With clear skies and reasonable temperatures we were able to stand on our doorstep for most of the duration of the eclipse! Hopefully others had the same opportunity! I believe they said that this would happen again in 2011 but likely we won't see it from this part of the world.
